About Transformers
Transformers began life as a toy, made by Hasbro, back in 1983. Two tribes of vehicles that could transform from vehicles into robots, named the Autobots and the Decipticons battled each other for control of their home world. The two opposing factions are composed of the forces of good, the Autobots, led by Optimus Prime and the forces of evil, the Decipticons, led by Megatron. Each faction is comprised of a number of transformers with their own unique abilities and skills.Transformers meets Scalextric
The Transformers were thrust into the limelight once more in 2007 with the release of an updated film featuring a mix of real actors and computer generated imagery that replaced the original cartoon film. The updated film featured new and old characters, including BumbleBee, Optimus Prime and Megatron, all searching for the All Spark. The Autobots want to use the All Spark to rebuild their homworld, Cybertron, and end the war between the Autobots and the Decipticons whilst Megartron seeks to use it to rule the universe. The film spawned a range of toys such as Ultimate Bumblebee and Transformers Scalextric to name but two.
A sequel Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen is expected for release on June 26, 2009.
Transformers Race Mode
The Transformers Scalextric Micro race set lets you race you cars in two modes - as a vehicle or in robot mode. In vehicle mode , your characters, Bumblebee or Barricade, can be raced around the track just like any other Scalextric set. Once transformed into robot mode your characters can race each other in the same way as in vehicle mode but with an added extra...Bumblebee and Barricade can attempt to knock each off the track as they approach each other by using their extended arms!
